At Agua we always prioritise texture and softness. We do this without sacrificing on technical ability, ensuring that each collection we produce performs as well as it looks. Our latest fabric is no different.
Our brand new fabric collection, Oruga is a textured chenille that combines a sumptuous, velvet-like texture with our usual performance qualities. It is extraordinarily soft, yet has all the ability of the world’s best technical fabrics. One of our thicker fabrics, Oruga has a dense handle and a soft, hand-woven look, giving it an opulence that most performance fabrics don’t have. It takes colour especially well, coming in a range of shades from deep blues through to vibrant oranges and greens. Its dual weave allows for subtle colour variation in the warp and weft, giving the fabric an attractive sense of depth.
Oruga is full Agua spec, fire retardant to Crib 5, stain-resistant, waterproof and anti-microbial. It also has a Martindale abrasion rating of 100,000, which is very rare for a textured and soft chenille. Essentially, it means it’s a very hard-wearing fabric, perfect for the commercial market including hospitality, healthcare, cruise, workplace and more.
