What we learned at Clerkenwell Design Week 2025

One of the UK's biggest design festivals, here's everything we learned at CDW 2025

Clerkenwell Design Week is always a momentous occasion, and the 2025 edition was no different. It was a pleasure to take part and showcase our latest collections in our usual spot in the grounds of St James Church. Thank you to those who dropped by our stand to say hello - it was brilliant to see our friends, both old and new. CDW is an epic event, and there is always so much to see and do. As well as hosting visitors on our own stand, we also got the chance to get out and about and see what the industry is getting up to. From our own collection highlights to the many talented designers located in and around Clerkenwell, here are our highlights of CDW 2025.

Textured Fabrics

Our new textured fabrics were a really big hit. Both our new Dales wool and our soon-to-arrive textured chenille Oruga were both very well received. It appears there is plenty of demand in the architecture and design community for soft and luxurious fabrics with differing textures that also perform well in contract and commercial environments. Thankfully Dales and Oruga tick these boxes, and are ideal for all environments. We had so many requests for our new Oruga, and we can’t wait for the shade cards and samples to arrive in June. We’ll start sending them out to our lovely clients and customers as soon as we can.

The British Collection

We especially enjoyed a couple of visits to the British Collection in St James Church. It is such a pleasure to witness the best of British design. We have championed this over the last couple of years with our sponsorship of Design Guild Mark and it is great to see such innovative design on offer for the commercial world. A special mention must go to the amazing Deadgood beanbag on display in the church, which was covered in our Cord. It was spectacular and really something to witness.

Community

Trade shows are an excellent way to bring the entire community together and CDW is our first chance of the year in the UK to do this. It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces but also to meet some new ones, and it’s always a great chance to network and catch up with industry friends. In other news, we were especially happy to see the soon-to-open Material Source studio, which we are happy to be a part of. Opening later this year, we can’t wait to have a studio home for Agua in London to host the A&D community.
