Case Study: Project Interiors’ new Manchester office

What is Project Interiors most known for, and what is your role in the team?

PI known for construction particularly within the student accommodation sector, as well as Build to Rent, Leisure & Hospitality and Office.

My role is Client and Design Manager. It’s my job to meet a client and help them create a design. I then oversee the design and the build of a project from start to finish. I also assist with realising a client’s vision through design, brand identity, cost and construction.

Can you talk me through the new offices? Were there any unique challenges in completing the project?

The idea was to create a design that brings the outside in, with soft curves and natural textures bringing a sense of warmth and openness. The office was to be open plan and a layout that would work for both Project Interiors and Project Residential and to make the office a more collaborative, social space.

The design concept featured a zoned, open-plan layout, creating dedicated work areas with a central creative area, to support design sessions and workshops without compromising the workflow. Brighter, vibrant colours were used to define different working areas and to create calming breakout spaces.

What is your experience of working with Agua? How does the team typically help you achieve your goals?

We required Crib 5, commercial grade fabric for this project. Agua’s had a good price point, nice colours and fabrics that complemented the scheme.

Agua has a responsive team and they are more than happy to help with advice on fabrics that work best on furniture pieces. The fabrics are good quality, there is a wide range of options and the service is friendly and efficient.
